Becky Bass invited to perform with New Jersey Symphony in world premiere composition June 9-11

Becky Bass will be making her New Jersey Symphony debut this month as featured vocalist in the world premiere of Farah (Joy) for Voice and Orchestra by Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR).

The closing event of the New Jersey Symphony’s 2023 season, Farah (Joy) for Voice and Orchestra shares the bill with world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell.  

 

Performances are Friday, June 9th and Sunday June 11th at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, NJ and on Saturday, June 10th at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank. For tickets and more visit www.njsymphony.org!

“The Sun is Shining: Sissieretta Jones” A One-Woman Play by Rhode Island playwright Tom Maguire, explores the life and music of this gifted Black opera diva from Providence. During a 28 year international career, Jones broke racial barriers, sang for four US presidents, starred in a touring show, and was the highest paid African American performer. Local actress Becky Bass stars in this one-woman show directed by Robb Dimmick.

Becky Bass plays at The National Gallery of Art for their "Jazz in the Garden" Concert series

Becky Bass joins Kera Washington & Zili Musik as lead vocalist/steel pannist at the National Gallery of Art. They were invited to perform for the museum's infamous "Jazz in the Garden" Concert Series set in their beautiful Sculpture Garden.

Becky Bass performs at Rennaissance's 6th Annual Global Day of Discovery in Providence, RI

Becky Bass and her Caribbean Jazz Quartet performed at Waterfire on August 6th on the Steeple Street Jazz Stage. She sang some of her favorite R&B, Reggae & Jazz standards, adding her steel pan to bring a Caribbean feel to her music. Catch her upcoming performance at Waterfire's Annual Fireball.

Becky Bass had the wonderful opportunity to perform with Sidy Maiga and Grammy Award winner, Oumou Sangare, at PVD Fest. She also got the chance to open up the festival with her Caribbean Soul Trio at the PVDFest Opening Party at the Ballroom in Providence G. She was joined that evening by a special guest who was also performing at PVDFest that weekend, Daniel Bernard Roumain, a fabulous violinist from New York. Becky Bass in "31 Seasons of Love" at St. Croix's CCT

Becky Bass has been invited to headline one of St. Croix's distinguished events at the Caribbean Community Theatre. It is CCT's 31st Annual FUNdraiser, titled "31 Seasons of Love", an after-dinner dessert cabaret. She will be performing songs from various musicals, such as AIDA, The Color Purple and Chicago. Youngest Panelist to speak about Working in the Performing Arts as an African American in RI 

Becky Bass joined 5 other Performers of Color living in the Rhode-Island area to discuss her experiences in the Performing Arts as an Afro-Caribbean vocalist, musician and actor. The event was held at Rites & Reason Theatre, where she got her college theatre career started.
