“The Sun is Shining: Sissieretta Jones” A One-Woman Play by Rhode Island playwright Tom Maguire, explores the life and music of this gifted Black opera diva from Providence. During a 28 year international career, Jones broke racial barriers, sang for four US presidents, starred in a touring show, and was the highest paid African American performer. Local actress Becky Bass stars in this one-woman show directed by Robb Dimmick.

Becky Bass joins Kera Washington & Zili Musik as lead vocalist/steel pannist at the National Gallery of Art. They were invited to perform for the museum's infamous "Jazz in the Garden" Concert Series set in their beautiful Sculpture Garden.

Becky Bass had the wonderful opportunity to perform with Sidy Maiga and Grammy Award winner, Oumou Sangare, at PVD Fest. She also got the chance to open up the festival with her Caribbean Soul Trio at the PVDFest Opening Party at the Ballroom in Providence G. Becky Bass has been invited to headline one of St. Croix's distinguished events at the Caribbean Community Theatre. It is CCT's 31st Annual FUNdraiser, titled "31 Seasons of Love", an after-dinner dessert cabaret. She will be performing songs from various musicals, such as AIDA, The Color Purple and Chicago. Becky Bass joined 5 other Performers of Color living in the Rhode-Island area to discuss her experiences in the Performing Arts as an Afro-Caribbean vocalist, musician and actor. The event was held at Rites & Reason Theatre, where she got her college theatre career started.
